Savannah - A change in scenery
Photography by Frankie Coletto | August 2020
Hello Friends,
Happy Wednesday! My husbands job (ANSA Motorsports) has a race in Virginia and we needed a change of scenery. So, we packed the car and decided to head to Savannah for a few days and later Virginia. Thankfully with working remotely a change in location was not hard to do. After a 7 hour drive we arrived to beautiful trees, manicured parks, and what Savannah is known for; Antebellum Architecture. I must say that the change was definitely necessary. As a creative, I was going bananas at home and going getting a babysitter so I can go into the office is not always easy. We have a great support system but this pandemic has not always allowed for those who would be watching the baby to be there as much as I’d like. Anyways, this trip was definitely needed. Since I am still working full time, those 8-5 times were spent on my computer but in a cafe, or in our Air B&B which is at the heart of the historic district. This place is beautiful. The condo is surrounded with floor to ceiling plantation shutters with views to Wright Square. Yes, the hunted Wright Square! I’ll tell you a couple stories on that on my instagram.
Since our arrival, we have been working but setting some time aside to drive around and visit some historic places. A couple days ago we decided to head to Wormsloe Historic Site. The 1.5 mile drive filled with beautiful and manicured oak trees was something out of a dream! We then decided to take a quick (or so I thought) walk through the property. We stumbled upon some beautiful trees, hundreds of little crabs, and a deck with a spectacular view of Jones Marsh. The day was hot but it was so worth it!
What has been one of your favorite ways to stay creative during the pandemic? Tell me in the comments below!
